09th September (09 09) is celebrated as International Sudoku Day.

 

The date was chosen because it matches the 9×9 grid that is central to the game of Sudoku. The World Puzzle Federation established the day in 2013.

 

 

• • The word “Sudoku” is an abbreviation of the Japanese phrase “Sūji wa dokushin ni kagiru,” meaning “the digits are limited to one occurrence.”

 

• • Sudoku puzzles come in various difficulty levels, from easy to extremely challenging, catering to players of all skill levels.

 

• • Despite its mathematical appearance, Sudoku requires no arithmetic skills, relying purely on logic and reasoning.

 

• • Playing Sudoku is known to improve concentration, promote logical thinking, and keep your brain active.

 

• • It’s also a great way to distract your mind from repetitive thoughts, like a song stuck in your head.
