Strategic over reach to cater for scale down later during negotiations. Says, open for talks. I feel Russia will stop with the Donbas region and in lieu ask for guarantees from Ukraine, US, & NATO about its own security concerns. Too fluid right now. Evident, no one was ready for war except Russia, even Ukraine did not anticipate the events.
A large art of Donbas region population is pro-Russia; many holding Russian passports already. Russia wil not risk taking control of anti-Russia territory and add to their eoes, I feel.
