39: Decision Making

Each day we make decisions, some of these are trivial with little consequence. Some however are important with huge implications.

Decision making can become stressful when our choices impact our life or lives of our near and dear ones.

There is no easy formula, but one can rely on their instincts, common sense, intuitions and trusted advisors.

Some useful tools for DM are:-

  • Rely on your instincts and intuition.

  • Consider your core values and how the decision will make you feel.

  • Consider your self-interest and your conscience

  • Pause and reflect – Write down if it helps – Create a list of pros and cons.

  • Empty your mind, relax and contemplate – take a walk.

  • Ask for advice – weigh advice depending upon the source.

  • Avoid analysis paralysis – fear of wrong decision is the cause for this.

  • Consider the long-term implications.

  • Visualize the outcome.

  • Avoid making emotional decisions – have a balance between rational and emotional.

  • Give yourself time before making difficult decisions – do not rush.

EASIER SAID THAN DONE  😊

36: SHIQURDU 3

  • Shiqurdu is a collection of thoughts. Although an odd sounding name, but felt appropriate for the collection.
  • These are simplified quotes in Hurdu (Hurdu being a mix of Hindi and Urdu akin to Hinglish i.e., hindi and english). Although in some cases the language has been simplified but attempt has been made to retain the thought and the poetic flavor.
  • These thoughts have been picked up from various publications. Credit goes to all the original writers who penned down these deep meaning messages.
